What is Screen Printing?

direct promotions screen printing

The Real Definition?

  • Method in which ink is applied directly to the surface to be printed (substrate). The image to be printed is photographically transferred to a very fine fabric (the screen) such that the non-printing areas are blocked off and the fabric serves as a stencil. The ink is wiped across the screen to pass through the unblocked pores and reach the substrate. For each color to be printed a separate screen is prepared and the process is repeated. It is more suitable for curved shapes (such as bottles and cups), non-porous surfaces (such as ceramics and metals), and short print runs. Also called serigraphy.

What Does that Mean?

  • We use Ink and a mesh fabric to put any design with any color on any type of garment you can think of.

Pros

  • High Efficiency with Same Day Turnaround available.
  • We don’t outsource, all our work is done on Premises.
  • Solid & Bright colors, with multi-color prints, and as many locations as you’d like to pay for.

Cons

  • We use Plastisol inks, which can leave a plastic-ink type of feeling on your shirt.
  • Not too many cons since we pride ourselves on service and quality!
  • It’s just not free.

What is Embroidery?

Why does it cost more? It’s just nicer. Simply put.

The Real Definition?

  • Embroidery is a process whereby a sewing machine or embroidery machine is used to create patterns on textiles. It is used commercially in product branding, corporate advertising, and uniform adornment. It is also used in the fashion industry to decorate garments and apparel. Machine embroidery is used by hobbyists and crafters to decorate gifts, clothing, and home decor. Examples include designs on quilts, pillows, and wall hangings.

What Does that Mean?

  • We make beautiful Embroidery work on all types of Garments, Accessories or just about anything that fits on our machines!

  • Permanent thread, sewn and stitched into the bag, shirt, garment etc… Laundering or Ironing cannot damage this.
  • Up to 15 Colors of thread available in a single design.
  • Beautiful High Quality finished product.
  • All work done on premises with the finest Machines available made by Barudan America.

What is Dye Sublimation?

The Real Definition?

  • A dye-sublimation printer is a computer printer which uses heat to transfer dye onto materials such as a plastic, card, paper, or fabric. The sublimation name was first applied because the dye was considered to make the transition between the solid and gas states without going through a liquid stage.

What Does that Mean?

  • Using a special printer, we print your design on special paper, and it is then transferred to a fabric with heat. This is not an Iron On. It is Dyed on to the fabrics leaving the same natural feeling of the fabric before the transfer.

Pros

  • Softest feeling decoration, you can’t feel it.
  • Most permanant as it’s virtually impossible to ruin.
  • Most customization options available as it’s typically cut and sew and it’s a digital production, so anything from a iPhone photograph to fully digital computer artwork can be sublimated to any polyester apparel or fabric for accessory production.

Cons

  • Expensive as it’s very custom and labor intensive.
  • Limited as sublimation fabric must contain majority polyester and for hard goods, must be pre-coated.
  • That’s about it – were up to date with all industry standards, so whatever he or she can do – we can do better.
